OLEG KLYMYUK

Oleg Klymyuk, Director of ART of

Oleg Klymyuk was born in Lutsk, Ukraine.

After completing his training at the State Ballet Academy of Kiev (Ukraine), he became a soloist of the Kiev National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. He then joined the Ulmer Theater in Germany and in 2003 he joined the Semperoper Ballett Dresden where he became first soloist in 2012.

 

During his rich career Oleg Klymyuk had had the opportunity to work with renowned international choreographers, setters and ballet masters such as William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, John Neumeier, Mats Ek, Alexei Ratmansky, David Dawson, Uwe Scholz and many others.

He has danced in a varied repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to cutting edge contemporary pieces. In 2012 he obtained the bachelor's degree for ballet teacher discipline, and in 2013 he graduated with a

master diploma for modern choreography and the qualification of choreographer of modern dance

of the Ukrainian State University of Humanities.

 

Between 2008 and 2013 Oleg was a ballet teacher of classical dance and pas de deux at the

Palucca University of Dance in Dresden (Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden) and between 2008 and 2015 he was a ballet teacher and ballet master at the Semperoper Ballett

Dresden.

In 2011 he received an invitation from the Ulmer Theater, Germany to become the assistant of the Italian choreographer Roberto Scafati.

 

Oleg Klymyuk has appeared in many international galas.

In 2010 he danced William Forsythe’s “In the Middle Somewhat Elevated” at the Novosibirsk State Theater, Russia under the direction of Igor Zelensky.

In 2012 he performed William Forsythe’s and David Dawson’s work at the Nureyev Ballet Festival in Kazan. In 2010 and 2012 he was invited to perform in the Dance Salad Festival in Houston, Texas, USA.

Oleg has taken part in international tours to Japan, USA, Spain, France, Italia, United Arab Emirate, Portugal, Russia among others.

 

In 2013 he helped to stage William Forsythe’s “In the Middle Somewhat Elevated” at the Paris Opera Ballet. In 2014 Oleg founded the dance magazine “Jump*” and is today the editor in chief of the magazine.

Since 2014 Mr. Klymyuk assists the choreographer William Forsythe in staging his pieces across the world such as at the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Washington, USA in 2015.
